Recording Intangible Cultural Heritage

Recording Intangible heritage is the preserving through multiple media, items which cannot be stored in museum storerooms. It can be seen as a form of Acquisition.


 There are five significant categories of ICH recording.

In Brazilian context, it is discussed if it is better use Intangible or Immaterial when speaking about Cultural Heritage. In the last few years, recording ICH has become a very strong trend within the cultural sector because it has opened the opportunities to the professionals and communities to deal with cultural manifestations and expressions in a more democratic way. In general, recording ICH is not seem as an Acquisition form itself, but a methodoloy of a specific type of Collecting.
